Unlimited All-Stars Flat Head Four-Stroke Cycle Engines

Back to Calculate Weight Page

B. Flat Head Four-Stroke Cycle Engine or Engines, 190 lbs plus one pound for every 3cc or fraction of a cc. Multiple engines or cylinders are permissible. 466 cc maximum total displacement.

Jr DragThis is a Briggs open flat head engine. There are many different versions of flat head 4-stroke cycle engines. All of them have the poppet valves installed in the cylinder block and the carburetor and exhaust are mounted onto the cylinder block rather than the cylinder head.
If this engine measured out to be 251.2 cc the weight would be calculated as follows;

Round up the cc to 252.

Divide 252 by 3. That = 84

190 lbs (base weight) + 84 (pounds added for engine disp.) = 274 lbs
