Unlimited All-Stars Forced Induction and Nitrous Oxide Engines / Mixed Engine Types

Back to Calculate Weight Page

F. Forced Induction and Nitrous Oxide. If a kart is equipped with some type of supercharger turbocharger, or nitrous oxide system, add 15 lbs for each cylinder that is served by the system.

G. Mixed Engine Type in Multiple Engine Situations. The minimum weight for the engine corresponding with the higher weight will be imposed.

Engine with Blower

This illustrates an engine that is equipped with a leaf blower forced induction system. Since such a system is used 15 pounds must be added for each cylinder served by the blower. Additionally, since the blower is run by a separate engine this is considered a twin engine kart. The blower is 25cc therefore an additional 25 pounds must be added for that engine. The total additional weight required when this particular system is used is 40 pounds.

Although a precedent has been set for calculating the weight for a blower operated from a separate engine this way, there will be an on-going discussion during the 2007 season and a probable alteration of this particular calculation.
