Unlimited All-Stars Over Head Valve (Push Rod) Four Stroke Cycle Engines

Back to Calculate Weight Page

E. Overhead Valve Push Rod (OHV) Four-Stroke Cycle Engine or Engines, 220 lbs plus one pound for every 2.5 cc or fraction of a cc. Multiple engines or cylinders are permissible. 265cc maximum total displacement.

Animal

The Briggs & Stratton Animal is typical of many of the Overhead Valve Push Rod engines that are available. This type engine uses a camshaft that is installed in the crankcase similar to a flat head engine. Push rods activate the valves that are mounted in the head through rocker arms. Like the OHC engines, the carburetor and exhaust are mounted on to the cylinder head.

If this engine measured 206.8cc the minimum weight would be calculated as follows;

Divide 206.8 cc by 2.5 which = 103.4

Round up 103.4 to 104cc

20 lbs (base weight) + 104 = 303 lbs
